Anna Ferraro is an American jazz musician, singer-songwriter, and composer performing music at festivals, clubs, and private parties. She plays covers plus her unique music style incorporating jazz, blues, and gospel into songs ranging from thought-provoking ballads to rocking dance tunes. Enjoying beach life and earning a living making music kept Anna busy working in Southern California. A few decades back she began solo performing on stages in the Los Angeles coffee house scene, primarily at the Iguana Cafe in North Hollywood. Joni Mitchel, Carol King, and Elton John were early influences. Anna also was influenced by classics such as Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, and Duke Ellington for creating her songs and instrumentals.
In 2018 she toured Europe, performing at La Buca Jazz Club in Milan, Italy, and Madame Poulard’s piano bar, in Mont Saint Michel, France, to name just a couple. She returned to Europe in 2019 for a small venue performance.
Along the way Anna played in bands with other artists, steadily working in the music business. She produced and arranged concerts featuring up to 40 singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. Since 1981 Anna worked as accompanist and music director for Vocal Production and Music Theater classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Hollywood campus educating many hundreds of students.
Anna has service playing certification from the American Guild of Organists, participating with membership in both the city of Los Angeles and the city of Long Beach chapters; playing for a variety of religious services for decades. She is also a member of the Society of Women Organists, a worldwide organization headquartered in the UK.
